Helena Rubinstein is the great cosmetics entrepreneur and industrialist of the early 20th century. Born in to poverty in Krakow Poland, this incredible story of self-invention is set in 1928 at the height of her powers. Facing a choice of saving her marriage or her company, Helena makes the difficult decision to sell her cosmetics empire to the Lehman Brothers in a stunning deal that makes her the richest self-made woman in the world. But with the 1929 stock market crash, her husband’s apparent infidelity and tested loyalties, things soon come crashing down and she faces losing everything.
The life of iconic 20th century businesswoman and cosmetics pioneer Helena Rubinstein will be presented as a feature movie, “Helena” by Studiocanal Australia. “Helena” is produced by Anthony Waddington (Eye of the Storm) and Marcus Gillezeau (Nerve) with a screenplay by Katherine Thomson (“Answered by Fire”).
